As many of our clients are preparing for the SEMA Show the question emerges; How can we measure the success of exhibiting at an event?
Have you considered QR codes on your event marketing materials? Visitors on the convention floor have their smart phones in hand, and with a QR code to a unique URL (pURL), you can capture the traffic and metrics of the links.
We are putting QR codes on a poster that leads the visitor to a photo gallery of their SEMA model. You can integrate QR codes in your booth background. Passers-by can capture the code, which you set to get their contact info. Direct them to a page where they can request a catalog, news releases, etc.

The ideas are virtually endless, print the qr code on wearables too. Booth uniforms can incorporate the codes as well. QR Codes don’t need to be black and white. Contrast is the key, pastels on pastels (remember the 80’s?) or tone on tone won’t work if there isn’t at least a 70% difference in shade (or value). Also there are some redundancies in the codes so you can experiment a bit with overlapping graphics. (be sure to test with a variety of devices before printing or distributing them). The longer the URL the more complicated the pixel pattern. Use a URL shortening program to get the most effective (simpler) QR Code. Older readers have a hard time with the more complicated codes. (older meaning device, not operator)

We look forward to helping all our clients with their event marketing and measurement. If you simply have questions or would us to put together a campaign for you, that’s what we are here for.
