Since 1996 we have been designing, developing and maintaining websites for a variety of clients. As technology changes we have adapted to fit the needs of our clients. One particularly cool example is the website re-design for our client at Wheelsmith.
THE PROCESS:
With a bit of review on the client’s server analytics we found that over 70% of their visitors were coming from mobile sources. The site was created as a static HTML site. It was very slow to load and did not read well on mobile devices We quickly incorporated a new design in a mobile friendly responsive WordPress template using most of the same assets from the original site. We then altered the coding on the template to create a cost effective solution to a custom site which was live in less than one week!
We wrenched on the backend with SEO keywords, phrases and alt descriptions. Next we installed some SEO rich Landing Pages. We kept many of the key page URL’s to maintain consistent search engine results.
THE SUCCESS:
Through the hosts’ analytics driver we found that the average number of visitors did drop slightly with the new design, however the amount of pages and time on site has grown considerably!
Page Impressions by session jumped from 1.60 pages to 6.20 pages on average.
Bounce Rate dropped by session from 6.39 to 0.68
The SEO is working too with a movement from the fourth page of Google search for “Hot Rod Wheels” to page one within only a few short weeks. “Custom Wire Wheels” and “Classic Wire Wheels” are now on page one in a Google search and “Rallye Style Hubcaps” is listed twice on page ONE!
We recently had a client call in a huff because their website isn’t ADA Compatible. YES! There are rules that if you operate business 20 or more weeks a year and have at least 20 full time employees, your website must be ADA Compliant.
I had another who after a few years of having a grunion updating the site, wanted me to “Make his website cool again”. We got busy in creating a new home and landing pages which gave his site a fresh look in a matter of two days.
