3 Steps On How To Cash In On Consistency…
In my research to build a YouTube subscriber base, one of the key factors is consistent uploads. YouTube academy suggests you upload your videos on a consistent date and time. I wondered, do people really stop what they are doing to watch a YouTube video when it goes live. It wasn’t until I dug deeper, that it isn’t about the viewer watching, but the algorithms. This is true with most search engines. If you want to optimize your brand in search, make consistent posts on your blog site or social site. Consistency can be used to reduce the search space and make the problem easier to solve.
I started doing this for my own marketing here on Linked In and it has proven to work really well. “Friday Focus” and “Tuesdays with Tony” have not only built up my connections but more importantly engagement with my posts. Now for the process:
Step 1) Create an editorial calendar.
What do you want to say? You can start with seasonal themes and dig deeper. Do you launch new products at a certain time to meet important tradeshows? Show the process of product development before, the launch, and then the post launch successes.
Step 2) Create intros, outros and consistent brand identity for videos.
Consistency in upload is great for SEO algorithms, AND consistency in message (visual and literal) is important in brand building. Create graphics that would work throughout the editorial calendar. Consistent typography for titles help build brand equity.
Step 3) Follow through on posts.
After your post review comments and engagement and take note of what works well and what doesn’t. Capitalize on what is working and tweek the calendar to DO MORE OF THAT!
